Laurier Street Bookends November in Clarence-Rockland, and the Villages Get Everything in Between

Laurier Street in Rockland hosts the first public gathering of November and the last one. For the three weekends in between, the events are in Clarence Creek, out on Tucker Road, in Bourget and in Hammond. Each one takes its own Saturday, and most are run by the people who live there.

Follow the dates in order and the season moves out to the villages and back again. The order matters if you want to make all of it without stacking two events on one afternoon.

Wednesday, November 11: Laurier Street goes first

The season's first gathering on Laurier is not a holiday event. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 554 has posted its Remembrance Day 2026 ceremony at the Rockland cenotaph, and it is free. The Legion's order of events runs like this:

  • 10:20 a.m.: the parade marches to City Hall
  • 10:45 a.m.: the ceremony begins, followed by guest speakers
  • 11:00 a.m.: two minutes of silence
  • 11:25 a.m.: laying of the wreaths
  • 11:45 a.m.: dismissal and final remarks

Afterward the Legion holds a reception in the basement of Sainte Trinité Church at 2178 Laurier Street. Everyone is invited for refreshments and a light lunch. So the whole morning stays on one street, starting at City Hall at 1560 Laurier and finishing at the church a short way along. The City's own ceremony page is the 2025 listing, which makes the Legion's page the one to check for this year's timing.

For families with the afternoon free, the City's November calendar has Family Skating that same day from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.

Laurier doesn't host another public event until the last Sunday of the month. The villages fill the gap.

Saturday, November 14: Clarence Creek opens the holiday calendar

The first Christmas event of 2026 belongs to Clarence Creek. The Clarence Creek Christmas Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Félicité, 1647 rue Landry. GO FM's listing promises artisans, Santa, children's crafts and a canteen.

Two details show how locally this one is run. The Club Optimiste of Clarence Creek is serving the hot chocolate, and the proceeds go to the parish. It's a school gym, a service club and a parish working together, two weeks before Rockland's parade even happens.

It also starts early. Most events later in the month open at 10 a.m., and this one opens at 9.

November 21 and 22: the busiest weekend happens outside downtown

The third weekend of November has the most going on, and none of it is on Laurier Street. Three events share two days, spread between Tucker Road and Bourget.

Saturday morning on Tucker Road. The Winter Fair at Tucker House runs Saturday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1731 Tucker Road. Admission is free, donations are encouraged, and there is parking on site. Tucker House has posted a long list of activities:

  • local vendors with handmade crafts and gifts, plus homemade holiday food made at Tucker House by volunteers
  • a hot lunch from Mom's Kitchen
  • cookie decorating and a family campfire
  • farm animals to pet, brought by Sunrise Country Farm
  • Santa and Mrs. Claus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with The Artist Alana Photography taking family photos with Santa

On the event page, Executive Director Marie Veilleux calls the fair "a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together, enjoy great company, and make lasting memories."

Saturday evening in Bourget. Once Santa is done at Tucker House, he has a second job that night. The Club Optimiste de Bourget is running its Santa tour starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 21. The listing names the Centre communautaire de Bourget at 19 rue Lavigne as the event venue. The route, costs and registration details haven't been posted yet. The club says it will share more on its Facebook page.

Sunday morning in Bourget. The same club holds a Christmas brunch and market at the community centre on Sunday, November 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.

That puts two Santa appearances and two markets in roughly 26 hours, all outside downtown Rockland. If you're planning around children, Saturday works as one long day: the farm animals and Santa photos at Tucker House around midday, then the Bourget tour at 5. Sunday's brunch is there for anyone who still has energy.

The parade's float deadline lands the day before this weekend begins. The City's float registration form says businesses and associations have until Friday, November 20 to sign up a float for the Parade of Lights. Late entries "will be refused, no exceptions," and unregistered floats won't be allowed in on parade day. Any business or community group that wants to be on Laurier on the 29th has to finish the paperwork before the busiest village weekend even starts.

November 28 and 29: Hammond on Saturday, Laurier on Sunday

The last weekend of November brings the season back into town, and the timing works neatly.

On Saturday, November 28, the Hammond Christmas Market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hammond Golf Club, 600 chemin Golf. It's the last of the village markets, and the only one held at a golf club.

The next afternoon, the season returns to the street where November began. The City's Christmas Parade of Lights takes place Sunday, November 29, with illuminated floats, local entertainment and holiday treats. GO FM's listing fills in the rest. It starts at 4:30 p.m., runs until 6:30 on Laurier Street, Santa rides in it, and spectators don't need to register.

A 4:30 start in late November means the floats roll out around dusk, which suits a parade of lights. Neither listing gives the start and end points along Laurier. The City's parade page is the place to check for that before you pick a spot on the sidewalk.

December pulls the season into Rockland, then back out to Clarence Creek

With the parade over, the events move indoors and mostly stay in Rockland. The December calendar is thinner and more spread out, about one event a weekend instead of one per village.

Date Event Where Hours
Sun., Dec. 6 Rockland Christmas Market RiverRock Inn, 2808 rue Chamberland 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sat., Dec. 12 Bruno Pelletier, Christmas Show Optimiste Performance Hall, 1525 Du Parc Avenue 8 to 10 p.m.
Mon. to Wed., Dec. 21 to 23 Free holiday skating Clarence-Creek Arena 1 to 4 p.m.
Mon. to Wed., Dec. 28 to 30 Free holiday skating Desjardins Centre, Rockland 1 to 4 p.m.

The Rockland Christmas Market on December 6 is free to attend and lists local vendors, handmade gifts, holiday décor and treats. It's the last market of the season, a week after Hammond's. Anyone who skipped the village markets in November gets one more chance at local gift shopping here, on Chamberland Street instead of a community centre or golf club.

The Bruno Pelletier Christmas Show is the season's one ticketed headline night, listed as a municipal event with the City's Recreation and Leisure department as the contact. It's at the Optimiste Performance Hall on Du Parc Avenue, so Rockland's biggest December show also lands on a Saturday night, right in the middle of the month.

Then the calendar heads back out to Clarence Creek, where the season began. The City's holiday skate at Clarence-Creek Arena runs December 21 to 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. It's free, with public skating and shinny sessions split by age. After Christmas the free afternoons move to Rockland's Desjardins Centre from December 28 to 30, same hours, again with public skating and shinny.

So Clarence Creek hosts the first Christmas event of the season on November 14 and the first free skate of the school break on December 21. Rockland hosts the last skate on December 30, at the same 1 p.m. start.

Building your own route through the season

Seen as one calendar, the season rarely puts two villages on the same day. On the weekend of November 21 and 22, the Tucker House fair ends at 3 and the Bourget Santa tour starts at 5. The Hammond market wraps up at 2 on Saturday, a full day before the parade. In December there's about a week between each event. You could get to nearly all of it without choosing one village over another:

  1. November 11, morning: Remembrance Day on Laurier, then the reception at Sainte Trinité
  2. November 14: Clarence Creek Christmas Festival at Sainte-Félicité
  3. November 21: Tucker House Winter Fair by day, Bourget Santa tour at 5 p.m.
  4. November 22: Bourget brunch and market until noon
  5. November 28: Hammond Christmas Market at Hammond Golf Club
  6. November 29: Parade of Lights on Laurier at 4:30 p.m.
  7. December 6: Rockland Christmas Market at the RiverRock Inn
  8. December 12: Bruno Pelletier at the Optimiste Performance Hall
  9. December 21 to 30: free afternoon skates in Clarence Creek, then Rockland

The Bourget tour route and the parade's start and end points haven't been posted yet. The Club Optimiste de Bourget has said its Facebook page will carry more details, and the City's parade page is the official listing for the parade.

I've worked in this market for 22 years, and I'm happy to talk about any part of Clarence-Rockland, from the Laurier Street parade to the village markets.
